Born May 22, 1991, Marion Clifton Cooper, Jr, better known as Clif Tha Supa Producer, is a native of Hopkins, South Carolina. His southern style of production is not typical of the average Hip-Hop/R&B producer. His use of instrumentation and incorporating samples is what sets him apart from other producers.
He began making beats at the age of 14. Being that his family had a great musical influence on his upbringing, it was destined that Clif Tha Supa Producer would began to create music of his own. By age 16, Clif began to gain an interest in becoming a DJ. His mother and father were his biggest musical influences. Clif was always surrounded by music his entire life. He attended Hopkins Middle School in Hopkins, SC where he began to learn to play the alto and tenor saxophone. He continued his path in music at Lower Richland High School in Hopkins, SC where he joined the marching band as a freshman until his senior year. Production was something that came natural. To him, each beat he made was another step of progression to being one of the best producers of the Hip-Hop/R&B genre.
Graduating from South Carolina State University and earning his certification in audio recording/engineering were Clif’s two biggest accomplishments from December 2014 - April 2015. Unfortunately, those celebrations were short-lived when tragic struck. On April 15, 2015, Clif’s mother passed away due to multiple health complications. He continued to keep working on music and taking care of his father the rest of that year, but that was one of his most difficult times. Then, on January 3, 2016, Clif’s father passes away due to multiple health complications.
Overcoming many adversities, Clif Tha Supa Producer is striving to become successful in the music industry and keep his family musical legacy alive.
